How to book your party

​Birthday party bookings are subject to our regular booking terms & conditions. 

Important: All party hosts are required to have their own Public Liability insurance. This may be included as a clause on your personal home insurance cover.   If you do not have Public Liability cover we can provide this for the event.  Cover by Girlguiding's policy will be provided following completion of a form that we can send you.  Completion of the form confirms that you are accepting Girlguiding's liability insurance of £5M and will pay the excess of £100 if a claim is made against the policy.​
SPECIAL OFFER: For our Girlguiding Gloucestershire members, we are pleased to offer a 10% discount during 2025 for Woodland and
​Adventurous parties. The birthday celebrant or their parent/carer must be the member. Just let us know at time of booking.

Woodland parties

 Explore the outdoors as you celebrate your birthday in our woodland.  We offer 3 different packages, each of 2 hour duration (including time for arrival and departure):
  • Campfire Cooking (age 7 and above)
  • Woodland Survival Skills (age 6 and above)
  • Woodland games & crafts (age 4 and above)

What is included?
  • (all packages) Exclusive hire of the forest shelter. You can use this space however you wish. The space includes benches and a table should you wish to serve your party food, play games and open presents. If the weather is kind, you can also use the grassy area outside the shelter.
  • (all packages) Birthday party invitation that you can download and print to send to your guests.

What is not included?
  • Food / refreshments (except Campfire Cooking parties)

How much will it cost?
The cost for each package is £210.  Any extras - for example, to hire a barbecue - are at additional cost.

Facilities and Accessibility
  • Access to drinking water
  • Toilet facilities, including an accessible toilet (across the road on the main site)
  • Woodland paths are accessible for wheelchair users (paths are covered in bark chippings)

How many participants can take part?
The maximum group size is 16 (this number does not include adult supervisors)

What should I wear?
All participants, including adult supervisors, must wear clothing and footwear suitable for walking in a woodland and for the time of year/weather on the day.  We recommend that old clothing is worn, as it could get muddy.  Footwear should be trainers, walking boots or wellies (if wet) - no open-toed or backless footwear, no crocs (or similar).  If wet, waterproof coats will be required. Adult supervision requirements
The minimum adult supervision ratio is 1 adult for 5 children (but extra adults are welcome).  If you have any children with you that are younger than 4 (for example, younger siblings) then an additional adult is required per child under 4.

Adventurous parties

​For older children and adults, you may prefer something more adventurous. Choose from one of our instructor-led activities and enjoy refreshments together in one of our hard shelters. .  We offer 4 different packages, each of 2.5 hour duration (1 hour for the activity, plus arrival/departure, safety briefing and time for refreshments):
  • Zipwire (ages 7-18.  Maximum weight: 74kg/11.5 stone)
  • Pistols (age 10 and above)
  • Archery (age 7 and above)
  • Low ropes (age 7 and above)

What is included?
  • Use of a hard shelter. You can use this space however you wish. The space includes benches and a table should you wish to serve your party food, play games and open presents. If the weather is kind, you can also use the grassy area outside the shelter.
  • Birthday party invitation that you can download and print to send to your guests.
  • 1 hour of your chosen activity. 

What is not included?
  • Food / refreshments

How much will it cost?
The cost for each package is £240.  Any extras - for example, to hire a barbecue - are at additional cost.

  • Toilet facilities, including an accessible toilet (note: accessible toilet is some distance from the zipwire)
  • Washing up facilities (not available for Pistols parties)

How many participants can take part?
The maximum group size is 12 (for children's parties, this number does not include adult supervisors)

What should I wear?
All participants, including adult supervisors, must wear clothing and footwear suitable for walking on a field and for the time of year/weather on the day.  Clothing must be appropriate for the activity.  Footwear should be trainers, walking boots or wellies (if wet) - no open-toed or backless footwear, no crocs (or similar).  If wet, waterproof coats will be required.  (Additional information)

The minimum number of supervisors is 2 adults who must accompany children at all times.  Extra adults are welcome (they could be decorating the shelter or preparing refreshments ready for the group's return).  If you have any children with you that are younger than 4 (for example, younger siblings) then an additional adult is required to supervise them.

fun activity parties

​Activity parties are great for younger children.  Activities are led by the adult organiser.   We offer 4 different packages, each of 2 hour duration (includes time for the activity and refreshments, plus arrival/departure):
  • Golf Frisbee (age 4 and above)
  • Dry Grass Sledging (age 4 and above.)
  • Tunnelling (age 5 and above.  Not suitable for adults/larger children)
  • Geocaching (age 8 and above)

  • Use of a hard shelter. You can use this space however you wish. The space includes benches and a table should you wish to serve your party food, play games and open presents. If the weather is kind, you can also use the grassy area outside the shelter.
  • Birthday party invitation that you can download and print to send to your guests.
  • 1 hour of your chosen activity. 

What is not included?
  • Food / refreshments

How much will it cost?
The cost for each package is £130.  Any extras - for example, to hire a barbecue - are at additional cost.

There is no specific limit for the number of participants, but children must be adequately supervised.

All participants, including adult supervisors, must wear clothing and footwear suitable for walking on a field and for the time of year/weather on the day.  Clothing must be appropriate for the activity.  Footwear should be trainers, walking boots or wellies (if wet) - no open-toed or backless footwear, no crocs (or similar).  If wet, waterproof coats will be required.  (Additional information)

Indoor parties

Our assembly hall can be hired for any occasion for groups of up to 40. This can be booked on its own, or in addition to a woodland, adventurous or fun activity party.

The hall is big enough to facilitate external services, such as discos, bouncy castles or soft play, but please express your intentions at the time of booking and adhere to the times of hire, which should include any set up and packing away times. 

The hall is fully accessible, with accessible facilities, and is a great space to host family parties, retirement events, and more.

What is included?
  • Use of the hall and kitchen (range cooker, fridge, plates and cutlery included).
  • Tables and chairs to seat a party of up to 40. ​
  • Free parking & accessible access to the hall.

What is not included?
  • Food / refreshments
  • Use of outdoor space (this can be booked separately)

How much will it cost?
£18.50 per hour plus the cost of any hired equipment.  Time to set up and pack away must be included in the booked time.

Accessibility
The hall is fully accessible, with an accessible toilet.

Adult supervision requirements
​For children's parties, the minimum number of supervisors is 2 adults.  Additional adults are recommended for parties for younger children.

Additional notes
​As the venue's primary use is for residential visits across the weekend, the hall can be booked on Sundays from 3pm, or on a Friday evening when there is a Saturday-Sunday sleepover booked for the rest of the weekend.

Additional information for all parties

What to wear
Both children and adults should wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions and environment. For outdoor activities, layered clothing is best for warmth and flexibility. Footwear should be sturdy such as trainers or hiking boots. Thermal socks, gloves and hats are also good ideas and waterproofs for rain and mud. In warmer weather consider sun cream and sun hats. 

Spare clothes are a good idea as well as a bag to put dirty clothes in for the homeward journey. We don’t have group changing room facilities but toilet facilities will be available to your group for the time of your event. 

For woodland and adventurous parties, there will also be specific information to help keep you safe, eg for some activities wellies are not appropriate, or you may need hair tied back.
Adverse weather
We are an outdoor activity centre and as such we encourage visitors to plan and prepare for their outdoor adventure. The majority of our activities can continue in the rain or cold weather. 

However, high winds and lightening may impact our ability to deliver you party as planned. If this is the case, we will notify you as soon as possible. We may be able to offer an alternative activity or we have to cancel or postpone your party. 
Additional facilities, available to hire
Outside space eg for party games or a barbecue, can be booked to extend your party.  Visit the prices page for our booking prices.

The safety of everyone visiting our centre is important to us and so we ask anyone booking a party to read the relevant risk assessments.
