ACTIVITY CENTRE MANAGER
Location: Cowley, near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL53 9NJ
Contract: Permanent.
Either full time to include administration of emails and bookings or part time.
Salary:
Full time: Annualised hours equivalent to 40 hours per week; £20,000 pa plus rent free accommodation.
Part time: Annualised hours equivalent to 30 hours per week; £15,000 pa plus rent free accommodation.
The Role:
Deer Park is Girlguiding Gloucestershire’s residential, camping, and activity centre in the Cotswolds comprising 26 acres with 2 main buildings and 5 camp sites with outbuildings.
As Activity Centre Manager you will look after the day to day running of Deer Park, ensuring efficient and effective management of the site and providing a warm welcome to incoming guests.
What will you be doing?
You will ensure that there are effective systems in place to ensure the safe and smooth running of the Centre with a focus on customer service.
You will ensure that the site looks well cared for at all times.
Working with our volunteers you will contribute to the development of the facilities with the aim of increasing their use by Girlguiding and other groups.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with a genuine desire and ability to work outdoors. Someone who is self motivated, enthusiastic about Girlguiding and keen to work alongside volunteers. You may already have experience of managing a residential centre or an education provision, however the right attitude and commitment are equally valued.

About you
You should have previous experience of working with young people, preferably in an outdoor educational environment, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to use your own initiative and a flexible approach are essential.
A willingness to work outside normal hours, such as evenings and weekends is essential. Unless there are exceptional circumstances it is a requirement of the post that the Centre Manager lives in the accommodation provided on site.
The Location
Deer Park is a 26 acre site located in the beautiful Cotswolds. It’s easily accessible by road being only 20 minutes from Cheltenham, Gloucester and Cirencester.
We offer a huge range of exciting outdoor adventure activities with zip wire, archery, pistols, bush craft, grass sledging, tunnels, geo caching and more.
What we offer in return
Holidays: 25 days of paid holidays per year plus bank holidays. Pro rata for part time.
Pension: NEST
Accommodation: A 3 bedroom bungalow is available on site for the Manager and family, rent free. All bills are paid by the Centre Manager.
