staying safe at deer park
At Deer Park, we take everyone's health and safety, and our legal obligations seriously. We therefore have a number of risk assessments to cover the range of visitors we see, and activities that take place on site. All our activities also have standard operation procedures, known as SOPs. Please take the time to read the relevant documents for your visit.
Whilst the documents on this page are updated at least annually, and therefore the links to the documents themselves will change, this page will remain static, so feel free to link this page in your own documents, or when gaining permission to attend our site. Please remember that we can only risk assess the activities, facilities and events that we provide. Therefore, unless your visit is part of a Deer Park organised activity/event, you will also need a risk assessment for your group/organisation's planned visit. |
General risk assessment
It doesn't matter who you are or why you are visiting Deer Park, this general risk assessment is for you. It details all the general risks regardless of whether you are coming for the day or overnight, staying indoors or outside, are a customer or a contractor. Please ensure you read this before your visit.

Location risk assessments
For those using any of our outdoor spaces during your visit to Deer Park, eg a camping pitch, the Nancie Bradshaw wood, a campfire circle, patrol cooking areas, etc., the general risks associated with these spaces are included in the general risk assessment above.
If you will be using either of our indoor facilities, the Deer House or the Assembly Hall, during your visit then please read this indoor visits risk assessment which covers indoor day visits as well as residentials. Please note there are two items that are for the Deer House only.

If you will be camping at Deer Park, on any of our camping pitches, in our tented village or in the treehouse or stable block, then please read the camping risk assessment.

Our risk assessment process
We believe it's everyone's responsibility to help keep everyone visiting Deer Park safe. We therefore encourage our visitors to report anything that they feel is unsafe, as well as share ideas with us of risks we haven't thought of to feed into our risk assessment process. If you would like to share something, speak to our centre manager during your visit, or email us.
